The AP Course Ledger lists secondary school courses offered worldwide that are authorized to include either AP® or Pre-AP® designation when listed on students' transcripts. As part of Course Audit for the academic years listed on the school's "Authorized Courses" page, AP courses are reviewed by the Advanced Placement Program® (AP), and Pre-AP courses are approved meeting course, curricular, and implementation requirements.

The AP Course Ledger lists AP courses beginning with the 2007-08 academic year and Pre-AP courses beginning in 2020-21.

AP courses offered prior to 2007-08 were not reviewed as part of the AP Course Audit; therefore, use of the "AP" designation is permitted for these courses. In cases where AP Course Audit curricular and/or resource requirements of authorized courses are not fulfilled, parents, students, and educators can report such omissions by completing the AP Course Investigation Request form.

Pre-AP courses offered prior to 2020-21 were not reviewed as part of the Pre-AP Course Audit; therefore, use of the "Pre-AP" designation is permitted for these courses.

Admissions officers from higher education institutions and officials at state departments of education can request access to an electronic file containing the complete database of authorized AP courses. To request access, please e-mail your request to apcourseaudit@collegeboard.org. Once approved, AP Course Audit will release your unique ID and access code.
